Share Bob’s Story. Help Bring Answers.
At Easter in 1981, Bob Hardesty was photographed with his daughter, Jamie. Nine days later, on April 28, he was murdered in Redondo Beach, California. He was 26.
Bob grew up in Walteria, a neighborhood of Torrance in Southern California. He loved rock music, dirt bikes and bringing things back to life with his hands. He graduated from South High in 1972. Forty-five years after his death, the people who loved him are still waiting for answers.
You may know something we have spent decades hoping to learn. Perhaps it is something you witnessed, a conversation you overheard, or something someone told you much later. You may never have known whether it mattered. Investigators can help make that determination.
Time changes lives and circumstances. If speaking once felt impossible, perhaps it feels possible now. You don’t have to have every answer. Sharing what you know could give investigators a place to look that they haven’t had before.
Please help us bring Bob’s story closer to an answer. You can speak with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau, or share information anonymously through Los Angeles Regional Crime Stoppers. A conversation you choose to begin today could matter to a family that has waited forty-five years.
